Hello! I’m the New York City-based, deputy news editor of realtor.com. I write and edit stories—and obsess—about real estate for the national website. I also oversee our data journalism coverage by querying databases and analyzing data.
Previously, I covered finance for Ignites, a Financial Times publication. Prior to that, I was a New York Daily News reporter running around the New York City covering breaking news (i.e. murders, shootings, fires, etc.), courts, education, local politics and food. I also shot and edited iPhone video for the paper’s website and wrote SEO headlines. I was also a general assignment reporter at the Associated Press.
I’ve also taught college journalism courses for about a decade. I’m currently an adjunct professor at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx. I teach Media Writing, which covers basic news writing and interviewing skills as well as media law and ethics, Online News Writing, which covers SEO and CMS systems, using data to create interactive maps, and charts and using social media to find and tell stories, and Feature Writing. I also taught journalism as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Independent Samoa.
I have a B.A. in Journalism from Purchase College, State University of New York and a M.A. in Journalism from New York University.
